Charlie Tanfield will race for the gold medal in the team pursuit at the World Championships in Apeldoorn.
The Great Ayton talent, 21, joined forces with Great Britain team-mates Ed Clancy, Kian Emadi and Ethan Hayter to beat Germany in the semi-final on Wednesday.
The quartet clocked a time of 3min 56.357sec in the 4km discipline to set up a gold medal showdown with Denmark on Thursday evening.
Tanfield produced a fine show of strength with a couple of huge turns on the front to put the Germans under pressure.
Great Britain had earlier qualified fastest during the opening session in a time of 3:55.714.
Denmark defeated a dangerous Italy outfit in their thrilling semi-final with a scintillating time of 3:54.518.
Tanfield also has the individual pursuit to look forward to on Friday. He goes into that competition as British champion.
