Rob Partridge is relishing his role as the experienced head in Britain’s newest professional cycling team.
The 31-year-old, from Pontypridd, has signed for UCI Continental outfit BIKE Channel Canyon for the 2017 campaign.
After two seasons with NFTO, he will link-up with former Pedal Heaven sports director Tim Elverson and his dynamic young squad, which has an average age of only 24.
A veteran of 10 Tour of Britains and six appearances in the Ras, Partridge is the oldest member of the 15-man squad but insists he is looking forward to passing on a few tips to his promising team-mates.
The former British under-23 road race champion said:
“I’m very happy to be joining BIKE Channel Canyon for 2017.
“It’s great to be part of a fresh new team with some exciting sponsors there to support us.
“Tim seems to have put together a really well-balanced team, from personalities to abilities, including sprinters, crit riders and climbers, as well as some young guns.
“I’m looking forward to passing my experience and knowledge on to these riders, as well as being given the freedom to take my own opportunities.”
