Max Stedman has been drafted in as a late replacement for Jake Womersley at the Lincoln Grand Prix on Sunday (12.30pm).
The 21-year-old, from Crowthorne in Berkshire, was set to miss the final round of the HSBC UK Spring Cup Series.
However, a crash on Friday night has left Womersley with heavy bruising, prompting the move to bring Stedman in.
There is everything to play for in the 165km battle, which is made up of 13 laps of a circuit featuring the iconic Michaelgate climb.
The team crown is up for grabs, with Tim Elverson’s outfit sitting in second position, 13 points adrift of JLT Condor after the first three rounds.
Dexter Gardias and Jack Pullar, who finished fifth and 10th in Lincoln last season, will hope to go well again.
James Lowsley-Williams has been an ever-present in the Spring Cup so far and will roll out again on Sunday following a superb start to the Tour Series this week.
Sam Lowe, Harry Tanfield and George Atkins all return after missing the previous round – the Chorley Grand Prix.
And the team is completed by Rory Townsend, who is firmly in contention for the individual crown following impressive rides in the Tour of the Wolds and Chorley.
The 21-year-old is second to Enrique Sanz in the standings but will fancy overhauling the Spaniard, who is set to miss the race.
Townsend’s biggest challenge for the overall title may come in the form of JLT Condor’s Ian Bibby, who trails him by five points and was third in Lincoln last term.
