Dexter Gardias believes he can become a winner with BIKE Channel Canyon.
The 26-year-old, from Witney, will race for the UCI Continental newcomers in 2017 and he is confident they can help him reach new heights.
Gardias enjoyed a superb year with Pedal Heaven, grabbing podiums at the Chorley Grand Prix and Tour of the Reservoir, along with fourth place on stage one of the An Post Ras.
The former ONE Pro Cycling talent is now determined to prove he can get his wheel in front in such races.
And he reckons the new team, led by his former sports director Tim Elverson and including eight of his Pedal Heaven team-mates, will help him realise those ambitions.
Gardias, who was also 11th in the national road race championship this summer, said:
“I’m really happy to be part of this new project.
“I had some good performances last season at Pedal Heaven and having some continuity within the riders and the management is a big bonus for me.
“We have a great group of sponsors and it’s refreshing to hear their enthusiasm and passion for the sport.
“It’s a long-term project and everyone on board is really motivated to succeed, next year and beyond.
“We have a really strong squad across the board and I’m confident we can pull off some big wins.
“But for me personally, 2017 is about stepping up and proving I can win races at a high level.
“BIKE Channel Canyon gives me a platform to do this and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into some bike races next season.”
